This educational poster about sound and the ocean was created within the EU-funded SATURN project for students and classrooms. The poster introduces concepts such as frequency, amplitude, decibels, and spectrograms, and links these to sources of sound in the ocean. A QR code in the bottom right links viewers to a page on the SATURN website where you can listen to the sounds of three marine mammals and a commercial shipping vessel. The poster is aimed at secondary school students or older children, but may be useful to other age groups as well.
The poster is free to print for use in classrooms or educational festivals, or to use digitally for presentations. Licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-ND.
